Welcome!
The Governor's Office of Student Achievement (GOSA) was established in 2000 to
provide accountability for Georgia's education system from prekindergarten through
postsecondary levels. It's focused on two main
goals:
Improving student achievement
and
Improving
school completion.
As part of this mission, GOSA
presents its annual report on Georgia's K-12 public schools for the 2007-2008 school year as
prepared by the Georgia Department of Education (GaDOE).
GOSA
publishes this report to provide education stakeholders with
valuable information related to student achievement on both the
local and state levels. It is hoped that such awareness will
impel stakeholders to further invest in improving education for
all of Georgia's children.
GaDOE is the state agency charged
with the fiscal and administrative management of certain aspects of
K-12 public education, including the implementation of federal and
state mandates. Such management is subject to supervision and
oversight by the State Board of Education (SBOE). To learn more
about GaDOE and SBOE, visit
